Choreographic Research Platform

Per_Dance is a platform of choreographic research that experiments with the application of perception theories to dance. The name comes from the interplay of the words Perception – Dance – Per Se. The methodological practices followed set questions of embodiment and challenge modes of perception both for performers and audience. Dance making devices are being explored through an interdisciplinary approach of research that involves fields of knowledge such as Perception Theories, Cognitive Sciences and Neuroaesthetics. The inventing and synthesis of moving material is based on a collaborative model of experimentation with cognitive patterns and perceptual dynamics transforming abstract dance to a multisensory experience. The body, present in time and space places narratives, references and meanings of dance to the dance itself inviting performers, dance maker, audience to follow processes of a personal dance becoming.
